Hey everyone, hope ya'lls new year is starting off groovy!.... I'm starting orientation 1/11/16 at Opelousas, LA. DC and was wondering if anyone else on this thread was going to be there also..if so, give me a yell !...... This has got to be the most nervous move i've done in all my years driving but very excited at the same time!..... This thread that drozzer started has played a very big part in my final decision of leaving my current job hauling fuel for the same company for 13 1/2 years and i thank everyone that has contributed to it. I wish everyone, current and future wally drivers all the best of luck for this new year!
Walmart here I come!

RailfanRick, orientation is payed by the hour @ 14. Mentor week is our reg pay. It all depends on what your mentor has you do. I can give you a final number but it may not be correct for your area.
RailFanRick and Lardfast Thank this. -
Just do your pre trip like you do every day. A few points to remember is to check 5th wheel clearance, seat belt, permits, brake system and don't shift over any R/R cross.
It's no different than any other job interview so keep calm.Vapor5niffer and Lardfast Thank this. -
Remember to g.o.a.l... they are watching you .
Vapor5niffer and RailFanRick Thank this. -
Thanks a bunch Matt, yeah I knew it was 14 an hour for orientation and riding with the mentor was regular pay.... Was just trying to get a ball park figure on what the first week may be, going 2 and a half weeks without a check is going to be a little rough. Thx again!Last edited: Jan 3, 2016
