Does Wally pay you for down time such as this?

Only thing you DON'T get paid for is sitting on the toilet (unless you're doing that during a breakdown). Yes, you get paid for everything! Even get paid for time in the sleeper.

Thank you. I turned down an interview with Wally in Apply Valley Ca last year. Just wasn't the right time for me to be away 5 to 6 days at a time from my family. Timing is better now. I'll apply again when Apple Vally, Buckeye or Hurricane Ut hires again.

Totally understand. Timing wouldn't have been right for me a couple years ago. Best of luck.

Just to let you know, when you are first hired, you will be on a 5/2. You will only be sleeping in your truck 4 nights, with 3 at home. Your 5th day is your Friday, so that is when you go home. So, you truly have 2+ days off every week (unless they are doing some mandatory full 70 thing from being busy. I haven't had that happen yet). So, it is not as bad as you think.

Apple Valley hires fairly frequently, so just check it daily. Buckeye (my DC) hardly ever hires. Hurricane UT I don't know about.

Good luck!! If you have any questions, just ask.

Oh, when you have a breakdown, that is called unscheduled time. Coordinators will find it on your paperwork, even if you don't. This applies to vendors taking too long to load/unload you also. Many times I have had them look at my paperwork and say "ahh, I see you had ________ unscheduled time on this load. Let me put that in for you." They find a way to pay you, even if you don't catch it.

Buzzard2157 and Boy Howdey Thank this.

Yup. They just keep throwing money at you! Lol. Well the shop checked the unit and couldn't find anything wrong. Its been running for a good 1 1/2 hours now at this vendor so I may be ok. My week is just about done anyway so if it does go down again, ill just head home tonight instead of extending.

I have had some that were more tempermental than others. I have also had to reset some. I did have one of the fuses go on one. What a pain in the rear to get to, that is. Luckily, it has only happened once. I had to get a motel for that one, as I was in CA and nowhere close to a DC to have it fixed (and had to take my break).

The reset is in different places on different truck models. Have the shop show you where it is, as knowing this can be helpful.

Heck that's even better! Thanks. So this 6/2 would be 5 nights and 3 at home?

For the most part yes. 6/2 is five nights and 1 1/2 days at home. 6/3 is 5 nights and 2 1/2 off but that is between 2 trucks that you rotate each week with another driver. We have several different programs to suit driver needs. The key is your senority to getting it. In my opinion 5 days out is long enough for me. I have a couple hours left on my 70 and ill use them up tomorrow woth a short run. Needless to say I am ready to go home. I'm actually shutting down early tonight cause I am just tired. I worked hard and pushed good this week so I can lax off today and tomorrow. Waiting for my wife to come and get me so we can eat dinner together. Nice to deliver to a store across the street from her job!
