The driver thing was just something you hear. I didn't know if it was the real cause or not. I have not had the pleasure of delivering to Cerritos. Some of the stores that were obviously not originally built as Walmarts are the worst. Luckily, they don't get me stuck over there too much. When I do get to run stores in CA, they all kind of run together in misery. LOL
Interesting about how the policy came down on you folks. It is always nice to hear the real story.
Walmart here I come!

Desert_Skies, I wish you luck with getting hired on. From reading what you wrote, it did sound like you have had some time with the company. I do hope they make the right decision to hire you on. It has been well worth it for me. Just 3 short months and I find myself driving down the road saying "oh yeah, I am a Wal~mart driver!" I love having that thought. My family is proud of me and loving what I am doing for them.
Buzzard2157, grabberblue12, Desert_Skies and 1 other person Thank this. -
Amen to that Matt. Same here. Still surreal to me. My family also loves what I do and is proud of me too.

Do any of you guys know anything about the plainview Texas dc? You guys got me all excited to apply don't know if I can wait till the ones I want open up lol
-
Plainview is mostly 3 million drivers. Most loads are long and all mileage. You won't move up in seniority there because no one ever leaves until they retire. If you can handle a year there then put in to transfer somewhere else. That is all I know about it.

Ok thanks !! I ll give it shot fill out app and see what happens.

Well my weekend is over. Back to work tomorrow! Looking forward to having two full days off next weekend because work extensions are ending on Saturday. I am also looking forward to hearing from Tom about his week out with Dennis and what his out day will be. I have been watching the truck sheets on the wall and so far it is looking good for me and another driver to get on these two flex programs. Only thing is one is a Friday out and the other is a Wednesday out. We both want the Friday out but because the other driver is above me, he will get first pick. So I will take the other if offered to me just because it will be something and I won't have to slip seat every week, just every other week. Also I received my discount card and my wife called me to tell me that "my" card had come. lol

need less to say I have to order a second one for her in a couple of days.
Well gonna head off to pack for the week and get some sleep. Stay safe ya'll! -
I'm coming aboard. Took the DOT physical and drug screen today. Went over compensation and benefits, I asked the few questions I had and liked the answers, so when I get home in the morning I will submit my info for the background check and orientation should be last week of September or first week of October. Really looking forward to this!
amiller Thanks this. -

Thanks guys for the insight of the hiring process. Two weeks ago I had interview and passed interview and driving test. They said as long as all my paperwork checked out good they would call me for second interview. Which they said that would be job offer and drug test. They said everything looked good. I was just wondering how long it should take them to get in contact with me. They said it would probably be two weeks but said it could be one week just depended on how fast everything moved. But its been two weeks now no word.
