Actually orientation is two weeks. First week is all in class, paper work, intruductions, porcedures, safety, hazmat, etc. Second week, you go out with a mentor to make sure you are comfertable with the OBC and paper work required. HR emailed me a schedule for the first week. 9 hrs a day all week. 1 hour lunchs. Lots of info but it will be worth it in the long run.

Thank you grabberblue12! It certainly has and will be worth the wait!

I can assume they put you up in a hotel for those two weeks? Do you live far away? And did you go home on the weekend in between? They told me they would call me and six to eight weeks...did it really take them that long or did you get the call sooner? The waiting sucks! Thanks for anymore info. I can't wait!

Ok. If you live over 50 miles, they will put you up in a hotel. You can go home on the weekend between the first and second week. Yes they tell you six to eight weeks. It only took a week and one day between the first interview and second call back. The waiting does suck, but WELL worth the wait. I have decided that when I do finish my first week of orientation, I will go straight out with the mentor so I can get right into my schedule, what ever it will be.

So excited, I have to check in at the hotel on this Sunday afternoon! I do have to share a room, but I will get over it. Its only a week there, and a week with a mentor. Then your flying solo! Can't wait!:biggrin_25519:

Sure hope they call me that quick! Good luck and thanks for your time. I'm sure I'll have more questions though lol. If you think about it and have time, keep me posted on what happens from this point. It'll give me something to think about while waiting for the second call...

No problem NYVET. I have a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper with the entire first weeks orientation laid out on it. Four 9 hour days and one 9 1/2 hour day. Lots of info, policy and procedures.
