Walmart here I come!

When I was getting sized for my shirts, I told Mary at Sealy I expected to lose more weight, so do not make the shirts too big. Mary said "You are not going to lose weight working here!" Well, seeing as she has been here for well over 25 years, she probably knows best!

I hope we have some real good BBQ for Associate Appreciation Week coming up next week!

 

Do not be so quick to think they will not call you because you do not have the hazmat at the time you filled out the application. Go ahead and get the hazmat endorsement. No matter what you will hear from Walmart. Anyone they did not select for an interview will still receive a letter from Walmart.

 

I'm hoping to get on someday so I'm going to work on it this week. It's one of my driving career goals so I'll never give up.

 

Like I said before, I told people I was going to be working here, for 4 years before I got hired.

I know guys who tried 4 and 5 times before they made it. I was lucky, getting in on my second shot (the first time was many years earlier, when I didn't have enough "recent" experience). Keep working toward your goal, and you will make it. Then you too can be looking forward to Associate Appreciation week. On Sunday, we are having sundae's. Yummm !!! LOL

 

We had donuts for our distracted driver meeting yesterday. We were subsequently distracted by those very donuts. They were distractingly good!

 

I know ill get on there someday and be enjoying them donuts too!! I applied to plainview the other day and Loveland today. just going to start working my way around the country till somebody calls lol

 

I put in applications for ten years and was hired on my third interview. Since I had my teamster job I was a little less motivated and only applied for the Hermiston,OR DC. I had the chance to get on at Apple when they first oppened thier DC but it was not the right time to make the move so I let it pass me by. Man I would have been way up on the top row if I had done it.

 

Absolute best of luck to you man. It's a good time too right now.ta lot of drivers who counted the days til they got on many years ago (like a lot of us did just recently) are now counting the days til retirement. Pottsville is very short, Tobyhanna is going to post openings again end of October, and other DC's also face shortfalls in drivers. Hasn't been a better time or a better chance in many years.

 

thanks Jim !! I think it will help that I can be flexible where I do my 1st year so if I don't get the call, I can keep applying to new postings until I find one I can get in with. I have plenty of time and I don't give up easy lol
