Thats what i thought til I was corrected by an ops manager. Only mandatory if there is not enough volunteers. Guess it's another Dc to DC thing.

Porterville doesn't support a grocery DC like our DC does. We do 80% of the dry out of our local grocery DC.
-
Criminal background check. The pre trip is the same as we do every day the only difference is you have to say what you are looking at. The road test is a piece of cake as it should be when you have the experience we have to be able to apply to walmart.mean phoen the drivah Thanks this.

We are split between Fontana and McCarran for grocery. We go south we help Fontana and we go North it's McCarran.

Thanksgiving at our DC is voluntary only. Not officially closed but technically is I have never had to work one.

This past year, 6 of us, including myself were told Monday of Thanksgiving week, we would be breaking early Wednesday evening at our grocery DC to be available thanksgiving day to run grocery loads. This did not sit well with my family. And it was senior drivers. This year, I have vacation booked that week. It won't happen again to me.
-
Are you based out of a grocery DC?
-
No, GM DC. We support grocery DC about 75 miles away. We do 80% dry and a small amount reefer.
-
I'll have Thanksgiving off because it's my scheduled home time. It's the only I can get that one off. I haven't worked one yet.
