ok, Thanks matt. I emailed recruiting before I applied at Loveland and they warned me about that. said if I accepted an interview at one they wouldn't be calling me for any of the others I apply to. would have to start over after that one ran its course.
Walmart here I come!

you but it won't let me pm yet. -
I get a sneaking suspicion that my current employer is holding me back. They don't want me to go. But i could be wrong just trying to be patient. 3 weeks now no word. If wmt doesn't get info from my employer Im curious if they would
contact them to see what the progress is ?Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
Drop an email to the recruiting department in Bentonville at [email protected] to check on your status. Some employers are faster than others when it comes to responding to employment verification requests. Walmart will contact you no matter what the outcome.Buzzard2157 Thanks this.

Your employeer has an obligation to verify any request of another company per FMCSA rules for hiring. If they don't respond by a certain time, Wal~mart can submit a request to FMCSA stating what they have done and that the other company has not responded in time. As Tom has said, either way Wal~mart will contact you either way. You can call or email to find out whats up, they will tell you.
Buzzard2157 Thanks this. -
Alright! So I had a nice, but busy, two days off. Came back yesterday and found out two guys from my class had gotten the flex postions that were posted. I am glad they are on some kind of program now. Only myself and another are still extras. Also my Ops manager told me my productivity is at 104% which is our DC goal. That made me feel good about myself! It shows not only me but the company as well that I can work hard, but not work all that hard. Currently headed out to New B this morning and will be back at Sealy tonight to swap out. This is good because I am looking forward to ice cream Sunday on Sunday! Yes I will have it for breakfast! Lol. Hey Tom, aka Dounut monster, aka Mr. Techno! You doing ok? Are you working too hard to the point that you just shut down and go to bed at night? Lol! I am sure you are enjoying all that you are doing. Quick, pinch yourself! You are not dreaming! Lol!

I am doing great! This job is so easy! It took me less than 3 days to master the needed paperwork and use of the OBC! I also have a good handle on what the ROC needs from me to maximize my time. The old saying of "You cannot work a happy man to death" is so true here! I have used up nearly every minute of my 14 hours each day since going solo a week ago. I go to bed just waiting for the 10 hour break to tick away, then get going. Aside from the job being easy and making a nice paycheck, the atmosphere that exists here is so positive and friendly. You really have to work here to see it!
As for Mr. Techno, yes, I am using technology to help maximize my time AND do the job safely. Since it will take a long time to see every store, DC, and vendor, I have found that looking at aerial pictures of the store or vendor before I arrive has made me more prepared to get in and out safely.
Matt, just think how productive we can be in the future when we no longer have to swap trucks and have our own permanently assigned truck. That will be sweet!
Laying over in Waco tonight before heading down to Temple in the morningdrozzer69 and Buzzard2157 Thank this. -
Buckeye has started having a coordinator in the shop, and it is working out very well. We only have to go to the office at start of week, and end. The walk time from where we parked, to the office was immense (it almost works off all of the food they feed you.................. almost.
), and they figured out how much time each driver was wasting just walking. If this works out, they may add on to the shop and move all of the coordinators out there. I will tell you what, it makes a huge difference, especially when you are doing short D&H and back to the DC.
They are always looking to be more efficient. When I started, I would sometimes have 3 trucks in a week. Now, most weeks I have one....................... but sometimes have 2 at the most. Again, efficiency, and allowing us to use our time for work instead of peripheral silliness. I will tell you what, I will cry alligator tears when I no longer have to switch trucks at all. I'm sure you guys share in that enjoyment in 100-115 degree heat.
Yes, for the most part this is an easy job. I certainly do not miss having to get through in a blizzard to deliver propane to a location that is out, or close to it. I'm sitting here, half way to San Diego right now. It sucks to be me. LOL
Believe me Tom, you do start to recognize stores you go to a lot. However, with the numbers out there, they can become a blur. Your aerial picture thing sounds cool. I don't know how good I would do with that, as I still argue with my Droid 4. LOL
