I do not know if this will pertain to just Sealy or company wide. The pre screen as descibed to me would be the applicants would be interviewed by driver recruiting before being sent to the DC for skills testing.
Walmart here I come!

LOL. it sure is a nice area you live in though. it was on top of my wish listof dcs but doesn't sound like that will be happening anytime soon lol
-
interesting, thanks for the heads up on that one. now ill be prepared if they call. wonder if that means if you make it through the pretrip and road test, if they will make you the offer then. it sure would be nice save me the time and money from traveling twice.

Hey, I have seniority over 2............... because their last names are lower on the alphabet. LOL
You never know. We have a pretty senior driver pool. We may be having quite a bit of retirements in the next couple of years. Of course, with Bill wanting to get down to 160 drivers, we probably still need to lose 5 or so, before we would even be short at all. Once they get down to the numbers they want, I can see them hiring every few years (or taking transfers). LOL Nothing like many of the DC's. -
Wouldn't effect you you traveling either way since the interview and skills test are being done on same day now anyway. The folks in driver recruiting in Bentonville can probably give you a more clearer picture of the process and how it may change.

ya sounds like it. I applied at four Loveland, plainview, Palestine and fort pierce,fl. figured id go all in LOL. i haven't found anyone that knows to much about Loveland or fort pierce so not sure what im possibly getting into.

true tom. I was thinking maybe that would change things from having to have the 2nd interview 2 weeks later but I guess that probably wont make any difference on that.

I had to go through all kinds of gymnastics to get to my interviews. It's not like you can park a hazmat truck just anywhere. When I went for my first interview, I was working on about 4 hours of sleep. I had worked it out so I could park my truck locally (I timed my runs that way), then ran home, showered/shaved, and ran off for my 120 mile drive. I was there for 10 hours, then got to get home and get back to work. Lets just say I was tired.

It was all worth it though.
I think Buckeye hires so infrequently because whenever they need someone, there are transfers just waiting in cue. LOL It is a great DC to work out of. Our GMT is fantastic. I'm sure that most all of the DC's are good places to work out of, but I only have experience with a few, and most of that is limited. -
ya that's some gymnastics LOL. ya, im ok with whichever one I can get on with, at least for a year anyway. none of them are on the top of my list but ill take it if I get the chance. they told me Loveland and plainview will be calling end of October so I have no clue which one might call first. its going to be interesting.

I imagine it will. I wish you luck with it. I am sure with that many apps out there, you will get on somewhere.
Well, off to bed. I thought I had a pretty good spot in Mira Loma last night................ until the first train went by. I didn't know I was that close to the train. LOL Oh well, I will sleep good tonight.
Night all !!
