Morning all! Well I am going to Dc 6094 in Bentonville which is about a few miles outside of town from the home office. I will be getting up there late tonight. Layed over in Dayton and Jill has me taking back roads all the way. Ill try to too get a look at HO on Monday maybe since ill have to lay over up there tonight.

Enjoy that 3 million BBQ. We are on our way to that goal as well.

We also have drivers that have a lot of stuff in their trucks. Had one small sleeper pete that had 5 cone shape air fresheners. Really? Way too much for that small space. As they say, it will get better. Always trucking! Be safe ya'll!

I can tell you that Loveland,CO is a GM DC and I believe Ft Pierce is a GRO DC.

ya recruiting said Loveland is needing quite a few drivers. they have 2 postings up now said their going to interview for one then interview for the other posting later. I don't know if it has something to do with the floods or not.

With winter setting in you might have a good shot at Loveland, there are alot of drivers that want nothing to do with the high mountains anytime let alone when their covered with snow and ice. Walmart has some pretty wishy washy rules regarding winter weather but in the region that Loveland covers the roads could be bad for weeeks at a time. If they let every driver pull over and hide in the bunk everytime they might have to throw iron I cant imagine they could keep the stores serviced prooerly. Same goes with Hermiston,Grantsville and Cheyenne.

You might want to dig a little deeper and find out more about Ft Pierce. I seem to remember that when they only had the Brooksville,FL GM DC that the open spots were filled mainly with guys transferring in from the north. There may be some issues at Ft Pierce that make it less desireable and less inviting to current Wallys. Bottom line still remains the same,if you get an offer you jump on it and in a year you can always make a move.

ya, I was wondering that about ft pierce myself. figure I probably have the best shot at Loveland due to what you said. much rather run up and down the coast in florid than run the snow and ice in Loveland but ill sure take it if they offer. im not real sure what area they cover out of Loveland. figure its probably Colorado and Wyoming.

Loveland services CO,WY,NE and I believe MT. There is a GRO DC in Cheyenne and I have seen alot of Loveland tractors running onto I-80 out of that DC. From Cheyenne Im sure its WY,CO,MT,NE and a few more of those places that are such a joy to run in the winter. To be honest after pulling doubles thru 17 winters in the Pacific Northwest with a chain and roll policy Im very content staying south of I-10 at least until spring.

The nice thing about Walmart is its mainly candy bar wagons (long boxes) so you dont have throw a ton of iron. A lot of times a well seasoned mountain snow and ice driver can make it barefoot. The loads are so light going out and your running empty back alot of the time so your not going to have that 34k on your drives. Not sure if they are running rocky mountain doubles out of Loveland,if they do you most likely would not be pulling those loads thats a high seniority gig,at least it is at Hurricane.

I was curious about the double 53s, I know ive seen walmart trucks pulling them in Nevada before but that's been years ago. I figured there would be a lot of grocery loads out of Cheyenne or north platte. so sounds like I got a pretty good idea of what im getting into. well at least its pretty country the rest of the year. lol. ya im heading south asap if I get on there. winters here are a cake walk compared to out that way. get snow and ice but not near as much. some hills and curvy roads but definitely not anything close to them out that way. maybe ill get lucky and one of the others in texas or florida will call 1st haha.

Walmart pulls double 45's out of Hurricane and Im thinking its the same at Loveland. Dont ever remember seeing any Wallys from Loveland on this forum, their input would be helpful.
