i may be a fairly new driver at walmart, but i have been driving 23 yrs, without a camera or a wingman , & i have done very well without any of it , & also we didnt have navigation or cell phones,& somehow we still made our deliveries & on time ,
in my opinion ,experienced drivers dont need a wingman to hit the brakes or a camera in there cab ,
    just my opinion

Preach it driver! They've started to hire drivers who've only been driving for 3-5 years, but that was how things were done and we survived.

I see Swift, CRST & the other big rookie mills with all this stuff in their trucks but it still doesn't stop them from driving like complete screw ups. So why do we need it if most of us already drive more professional than the average driver to begin with?

This is all about insurance and lawsuits................. that is all. Walmart is a target and lawyers try to use anything to discredit the drivers if there is an accident.

I understand why it is coming, and fully expected it after the Tracy Morgan fiasco. It doesn't mean we have to like it, but it is what it is. Just do your job the way you always do and you will be fine. It will just be uncomfortable in the beginning.

I've had cameras before bumps can set off recording
Sure we will all be fine, I was brought in a couple times just to show me shaking my head or saying holy s when hitting a bump at the land fill

Our yard at XPO was awful. Big potholes everywhere that would set them off. I would look at the camera and say"fix the @&$@ yard!!". That's how I found out there was no sound on them. LoL!!

Can anyone give me information on the Hope Mills, NC D.C.? Specifically the areas run? Good/ bad? Also as new hire OTR, what can I expect my average weekly pay to run?

That DC rarely hires, usually has a waiting list for transfers. Good place to run out of though. The pay will be up to you , depends on the individual. The money is here to be made but you have to work for it. Everyone has different goals.

Pay depends. Do you like to hang around the break room talking to other drivers? Do you go off duty with over an hour left on your 14hr clock per day? If so, your pay will not be great. If you "chase after it"- meaning you are at the DC long enough to do what's necessary and run your clock down to a few minutes left each day, you'll do much better.
    Saturday - $425 had 8 minutes left
    Sunday - $460 had 2 minutes left
