No it wasn't hr manager. I called after 5pm. I just asked the person who answered the phone. Could of been despatch. So I guess she was wrong. So would coverage start the date of the orientation?

Yes, all your insurance starts day one. You will pick your plan on first week.

What's the rate on long term disability? The booklet I got doesn't have any rates, it just says it will start after 26 weeks if your enrolled.

Go to the below link and you will see the rates for the Truck Driver LTD at the very bottom on page 8. The difference between Driver LTD and Driver LTD Enhanced is the percentage of your earnings from the prior 12 months that will determine your monthly non-taxable payment. Driver LTD pays 50% and Driver LTD Enhanced pays 60%. The rates are based per $100 of pretax income. Some of the other rates you will see are for store associates and not truck drivers. Our short term disability is free and pays 75% of your ADP for 26 weeks, whereas a store associate pays for their short term disability and receives a much smaller benefit.

As someone who has used the LTD, you may wish to think very carefully about paying more for the full duration coverage, which would cover you until approximately 67 years old. The LTD insurance covers you against any disability that prevents you from passing a DOT physical for only the first year. After the first year, you must apply for disability benefits through the Social Security Administration (SSA). If approved for benefits from SSA, the amount received will be deducted from your LTD benefits. Another thing is that after you are on LTD for one year, your disability must prevent you from doing ANY JOB in order to receive benefits. You would have to be seriously disabled to reach that criteria. You may, but odds are you will not be absolutely totally disabled. I personally have the Driver LTD Enhanced 5 year plan. It works for me. You may see it differently and opt for a different plan. :)

While a lot of other jobs are paying over 60 cpm, not a lot of people want to work for 46 cpm and be gone from home all week with no weekends off.

I **think** I recall seeing them off the list last week when only two locations were listed. I just do not remember if Menomonie and Spring Valley were the ones. I usually check the site several times a week looking for the locations in Texas with openings to pass on to a few friends.

It could also be that Menomonie and Spring Valley have a higher requisition for drivers and have not found enough candidates.
