I need to come down and work in Texas, our delays average 3-4 hours when those slow times of the year are upon us. I don't know why I should just be happy that I get to sit for 4 hours with no pay like some of the other drivers think I should lol.

And you're right, get rid of the 14 an hour delay and replace it with ADP. That'd be a sweet setup.

Linehaul jobs you work 12-14 hours a day and are only home for 8 hours to sleep then back to work. The bottom line is you have no quality Home time except weekends anyways.

To me I think the quality of 10hr breaks all depends on the individual setup and job. I was working a 12hr shift from 4pm-4am. There's times I would work later and/or get off earlier. I only lived 10 min away so I got plenty of rest. I don't have a family so that's a plus.
I get same amt of rest at WM but if I wake up sick or need to #2 I'm not in the comfort of my own home. Didn't realize how much I miss that until now. So quality of hometime will vary from driver to driver

Don't forget, with linehaul you get home Saturday am, and you are exhausted, so Saturday pretty much shot

Alright fellas it's 15 degrees tonight. I've got the thermostat in the sleeper set on 90 degrees. All it's doing it's blowing out cold air. I've flipped the switch on the dash several times. I've turned it off and on in the sleeper. I've yet to hear the APu fire up

What make & year truck are you driving?

Under the circumstances, best to get on the phone with the shop at your home DC. I guess you may not be at a DC with a shop right now.

i called the shop. Told me run the truck if I need too. I'm out of hours and in the middle of nowhere Egypt. It's a 13 freightliner with the digital thermostat. Luckily this truck will idle with the cruise set.
