What places in Chicago do we go for vendor pickups? Wondering how stressful it can be. There's lot of places you have to back into dock from busy street (47th, Archer, 58th ect) l work Chicago nights and don't have to worry about traffic. I've delivered at Bloomers Chocolate (600 Kinzie Street, Chicago, IL 60654) and easy at night. Couldn't imagine doing it in the day time.
Walmart here I come!

If it's too dangerous, just make a phone call and say so. They won't have you risk it. Chances are most everything has been done plenty of times before you will pick up there so any negative feedback will have already been taken into consideration.

I slipseated at both DCs. Started at Spring Valley, transferred to Seymour after my year was up at S.V.
Spring Valley did sliipseat us new drivers 2-4 times per week until I signed up for a 5/2-5/3 program.
At Seymour I slipseated 1-2 times per week for almost a year because I was holding out for an assigned truck. -
How long did it take to get 5/2 5/3? And which DC do you like better and why?
3 DC's in my mileage range Spring Valley, Seymour, & Cold Water -
At Spring Valley, it took about 4 months (I think) to get on that program. I like Seymour better because I didn't care for Chicago traffic.
I will say this about Spring Valley...they kept me busy that whole year. I didn't know what DC wait time was until I transferred. -
Did you make less money at Spring Valley because of the traffic?
-
No because they kept me busy. I did run out my 70, or pretty close to it, every week.
