Wow, losing all of that family would be tough. It's good for her that you are still close.

Yeah, we are planning on driving. See a bit of countryside, spend a week at Disney and do the Orlando thing. Then a couple of nights in New Orleans and a couple in San Antonio. It will be pretty cool if she pulls it off. :) Knowing her, she will. It will be the biggest vacation I have ever taken. I think it will be fun with our son at age 12 (what he will be then).

Speaking of, he is supposed to be reading in his bunk. He is sound asleep. :) He put in a hard days work.

Good night, and thanks !! I'll putz around on the car sites for a few, then off to bed.

Holy cow! Y'all added so many comments I can't read it all in one sitting! I have been busy since yesterday so I have not made my two cents yet. BTW, you see my years experience and I gave wally over 700,000+ miles. Wal~mart does need drivers. I feel they are looking in new directions to try and attract drivers. I hope they go by the bottom way side. That is not why I had looked to hire on in the first place. The company holds a high standard. They want to keep that reputation but how do you get drivers that meet that when 95% wash on the pre-trip alone?

Y'all behave while I sleep now! Glad to see everyone can have a civil conversation cause lord knows if you get my thread closed...............I may have the mods boot you. Lol night ya'll and be safe out there.l

Well, I did my rodeo this morning. It was interesting. LOL They had us driving new Petes, and they don't turn very tightly. I think I have only driven one on 2 occasions, so I wasn't expecting I would do very well. I guess I did ok, as I scored a 125. I have no idea what that means. LOL

They did let my son ride with me, and he was so excited. Then afterward the GTM had him go over to his truck, and gave him a Walmart Transportation jacket. He was in heaven. It is 95 here right now, and he just took it off. LOL So, they cooked some excellent steaks for us, and I get a sweatshirt. So, all in all it was a good experience. Now I have a 3 stop grocery with the last one going to Yuma, then I will probably be heading into CA.

Breaks almost over, so keep the wheels down and keep it safe. :)

Good job Rick! I had only scored a 90 on mine. We got to choose from three different hats and they cooked hot dogs. Forgot to mention I got a load again out of IDC to Bentonville yesterday. I picked a load at WPM warehouse headed back to Texas. Spending my night in a cramped truck stop for once. Got spoiled already sleeping at stores! :biggrin_2554:

Anyway glad to see that I could catch up this evening. Ha:biggrin_25518:ve a great night.

Drozzer you sound like you run all over the place, I was told about a 400 mile radius of the DC is that correct?

Thanks Matt.............. I think?? LOL I have no idea if 125 is any good or not. I know I did real well on a couple of things, not so well on a couple, and completely forgot about 1 thing that could have given me easy points. Other than that, I have no idea. They did ask me if I would go to state and regional if I made it, but I figured they asked everyone that.

I will say this, the steaks were to die for, and made it worth it. They had marinated them for 3 days. Bill (the GTM) was cooking, and he did ours perfectly. The man knows how to BBQ. :) Well, that and the jacket for my son. I think he is going to sleep with it. LOL

We are camped out in Yuma. We didn't end up going to CA, like you usually do when you get down here. So, back to Buckeye tomorrow. Out here, we do sometimes have to sleep at truck stops due to the distances between population areas. Sometimes you just don't have the option to sleep at a store. Then, many stores are no layover stores, which is kind of annoying. I am very picky about the truck stops I will sleep at, however. With the APU running, I don't hear anything anyway. My son has been sleeping like the dead. Of course, he could sleep on a rock in a blizzard............ as long as he has his pillow and John Deer (his favorite critter, a deer, that he named before he knew what a John Deer was).

Midnight, 400 miles is about right, at least from what I have observed. The furthest DC I have gone to is Porterville, CA. They will dispatch you to their coverage area, but I have only been a little north of there. That is the furthest I have been from Buckeye.

Midnight, from Sealy to Bentonville is def the farthest I have been since I started. We can possibly cover five states from just my location maybe six. They will run you where the areas that need fill in and on the longevity of the truck your in. Two day truck you can expect to stay in your area. Truck for the whole week..........endless possibilities! It is nice to go different places.

Honestly I am happy hear. I have a great consistent schedule, good miles and no frustration. I plan on retiring here. The benefits are OK and the pay checks are real good. It is worth every bit of time that I have put in to get here. Feel free to ask questions to us or to the DC you applied at. Going to bed now. Later.

Hey Matt, I know what you mean. I got lucky and got a 6/3 as you know, which obviously guarantees me a truck for my whole 6 days every week. I also got very lucky in that I never did have to switch trucks mid week, I guess we have a few extra trucks here. In my area we can easily cover many states in just one day, the most for me so far has been 6 states in one day. The last 3 weeks I was beginning to think they didn't want me back in Tobyhanna, I started and ended my week there but I was everywhere else in between, but can't complain about the miles and the activity. Seeing some beautiful parts of the country that I've never seen before. Its funny when you think about it, we're getting paid to see the sights and get treated very well, and I must say fed very well too. Well, I'm staying the night in New Jersey, bedtime for me as well.
