Walmart here I come!

To be honest management in that office could careless how dirty that truck is. But I'm sure not gonna spend 30 to 45 mintues on my go home day to make a truck look spotless. Then to return to that truck on my next week and it looks like a pig has been it. Crumbs on the dash and floorboard. Sheets still on the bed. Next time this guys #### will be thrown in the uniform trailer.

Anybody else hear any rumors of grocery drivers getting reassigned to GM?

 

Before I went on a medical LOA, I received a shout out nomination from a fellow driver for how clean I keep the truck on the 5-2/5-3 program I am on. I still keep the award in my briefcase as a reminder to stay focused on the job all the time and maintain a high level of excellence. Regardless of the legal issue I pursued against the company, I have not let it keep me from doing the best job possible every single day. Anyone who tries to label me as bitter or a troublemaker because I held some high level managers accountable for breaking the law is ignorant and not worth my time.

I have known Matt (drozzer69) since I started a few months after him in 2013 at the same DC. I personally think Matt should be featured in company literature because of how well he projects such a positive image of what a Walmart driver should be. He is not preaching what he does not already practice. No one will ever need to tell Matt to tuck his shirt in!

 

You've got the right attitude Drozzer. With the more drivers we hire to keep trucks running almost every day of the week, assigned drivers should expect someone to jump into their tractor even if they're off for just two days and remove the bedding. It wont get any special treatment from me and I won't touch someone's sweat stained bedding they've been sleeping on with my bare hands. It'll be with whatever gloves are near me to keep my hands germ free.

Some driver's bedding left in the trucks is plain gross and stinks. I don't think a few of ya'll have taken it home to be washed in over a year.

 

I agree with you 100% just because you get into a dirty truck, don't stoop down to that drivers level and leave it dirty like they did. I have gotten into my share of dirty trucks and at the end of my go home day I clean it up because that's what you're supposed to do.

 

I have been on this thread for two years. I think its time for me to leave to much negatively lately.

I just started in September and got on a 6/3 in December. I get one 3 day weekend a month and a Saturday or Sunday a month. The paychecks fluctuate though but it's worth it. The is the first job in my 24 years of driving that I've had to work holidays and weekends. It takes some getting used to but it is a good job.
