Just remember what happened to Gizmo drivers.......
Good luck.... -
ya that was a bad deal but at my current employer we cant use a cell phone hands free or not at anytime while we are in the truck. when we are at a stop we can use it all we want but not in the truck. so walmart actually has a more lenient policy than I have now.
Extreme4x4 and drozzer69 Thank this. -
Ok extreme 4x4 I will follow your instructions thank you, I look forward to the "routine" as far as the logs go over I've been fudging them so long and trying to remember what I wrote and where I was and where I was going I'm gonna be a train wreck did the computer have an eraser lol, I'm really looking forward to 10 hours of sleep every night that sings more delightful than anything right now, I've been running flatbed for so long time hope I can get it in the dock with no problem.

Gizmo? What did I miss?

its on a different thread jim. I think its on the thread titled wal mart cell phone policy
-
Terminated for texting while on the drive line......
-
Gizmo drover for Wal~mart? If so, then yeah.....texting while driving is a big no no here. Do you drive for Wal~mart?
-
just to be fair to you walmart drivers. my company would do the same thing on 1st offense.no matter how long you have been there. we had to sign a form saying we agreed to that policy. if you even get a ticket while using cell phone your toast here. doesn't make any difference if there was an accident or not. im top seniority at my terminal and they made it clear id be gone just as fast as anyone else if broke policy. they implemented that as soon as the federal laws changed so its been awhile.

I think we all as fellow driver can agree on one thing. if your involved in an accident no matter your fault or not the other parties attorney is going to do everything in his power to prove you done something wrong. case in point I had my tractor sitting in front of my house on the street, now keep in mind this was an extra wide street for school bus traffic during the day.it was on a Friday night I was home for the weekend. I had been home about an hour just got out of the shower when I heard a loud noise. walked outside and some idiot rear ended my tractor. totaled his car it wasn't pretty. I wasn't even outside I was in my own house and they tried to say it was my fault because it was parked in a residential area. lucky for me it happened at 654 pm in my town its legal until 7pm. in our society today everyone is so sue happy that these companies almost have to make these policies to ensure that we even can have these jobs. cell phone records would be the easiest way to prove you were distracted so I can see the point for these policies even if I don't always agree with them.
