Don't feel too bad. There are many current drivers that did not pass the first time. There are some that don't on the second try. It is not because you are a bad driver. For most, it has to do with nerves. Please don't beat yourself up. You will get it next time. :)

Appreciate the comments. After I passed the PTI and backing, I thought I had it wrapped up, but I talked too much while I was driving. After bragging about how smooth the transmission was and how easy it was to shift, about 3/4 way through the road test, I started doing stupid things like elevating the RPMs too high during shifting. I had to engage the clutch a couple times. I talked way too much when I should have been 100% focused on the test. I was actually a lot more nervous during the PTI.

I was nervous the first time, almost shaking walking out to the truck. I don't know why and never did that before. Some of the guys I work with here are good drivers and didn't make the cut the first time. Barrett will do well in a year if this is what he still wants.

The driver before me struck a trailer during backing.

Seems to be a lot of that happening on the backing portion lately. I have no comments about it. All I can do is just shack my head.

More of this will happen if they continue to lower the standards to get hired. Shame. Hope we don't start to be seen as a crappy outfit like so many others...
