that's awesome. I hope my husband can work less and make more....we could really use the higher pay and I would love to see him more than 2 days every 2 or 3 MONTHS!!!

Hey Jim just be careful with that 6/3. We are starting a 5/2 5/3 here because the 6/3 drivers are not being productive enough. To many drivers abusing the home time. I signed up for it but not sure if I'm ready for the slight pay cut from missing the weekend pay.
-
5/2 5/3 will offer the same amount of time off as the 6/3 (30 days on & 15 off for every 45 days), but allow for more hours available to work during the 5 days out. The 5/2 5/3 will only catch the weekends once every 3 months, where the 6/3 will more frequently. I do not agree with our DC's interpretation of "productivity" being an average of 9 hours driving per day equalling 100% productivity. When you fail to be dispatched out of the Houston area (or Dallas), you may do several trips and never get 9 hours driving due to the time wasted unloading and reloading, yet moved a lot of freight!

Hey Matt, sorry it took so long to reply. In reality, I don't really pay attention to who is coming in and out of our DC. I look at the ready line, and see a bunch of dirty trucks of all different colors. LOL
As for the week extensions, this is my first one. This is the 5th night in my truck this week. So, we will see how this goes.
Off to bed now. Just a lot going on lately, so not as talkative guys. -
drozzer is correct on the reasoning for the 5/2 5/3 being put in place. To many guys turning them into a 5/4. I always had 10 to 14 hours on my 6th day when I was on a 6/3 because I went off duty every minute that was legally allowed. I had one of the highest adp at our dc on a 6/3. then they started a pilot program for the 5/2 5/3 and I went to that and nothing has really changed as Tom says you pretty much work the same amount of days. Only thing being you will have hours left for a 6th day and for mandatory extension. and your your paychecks are balanced out now versus the 6/3 . as far as getting the weekends off on a 5/2 5/3 its every 8 weeks not 3 months and you get 7 in a row. Just come off my friday and sat this week it will be fri, sat, sunday . I actually like it better myself but for the guys who have a long drive the 6/3 would benifit them. My dc is not eliminating them but not posting any as well. They will consolidate them until there gone and the guys did it to themselves for not running the program properly. sorry for the poor grammar phone sucks...Buzzard2157 and drozzer69 Thank this.

Not sure how productivity is calculated but mine stands at 101.8%. Guess I must be doing something right LOL.
-
Productivity is based on 9 hours of driving and above. They take the last 6 weeks and average it out and that is how you get your number.
Grabber is correct about the rotating time being every 8 weeks. Got all the details about it from ops last week. It is a small drop in pay from what my wife and I can average out. She is having an interview with a school right now and I may base my decision on how well it goes for her. Her current job made her step down to a part time position and she is just over all not happy. Guess I will have to wait and see.
Also with that new program you won't be able to do extensions cause you need to be out of the truck on your fifth day so the next driver can get in it the following day.Last edited: Nov 5, 2013

On a 5/2 5/3 program, your out day moves up one day every two weeks. Once your out day falls on a Monday, which would make Saturday & Sunday as days off, it will then take 14 weeks for your out day to fall on a Monday again.
Anyone logging off duty when they are actually doing work is playing with fire. The numerous cameras that exist at stores and DC's can bear witness against you. I have heard of some drivers here logging off duty while stopped at a traffic light. That is nuts and really could come back to haunt a driver one day if involved in an accident, even if not at fault.Joeyd Thanks this. -
Very good Tom I agree with your comment. If I worked there I wouldn't be messing with fire, just remember the guy who lost his job there because of the text issue. I believe there not into shinannigans around there.
