No the warning was about 4 or 5yrs ago. I guess I just figured that WM might see only 8yrs and just shy of a million and laugh me out of there when compared to guys that have been trucking for a lot longer, but the job and work environment sounds to good not to apply. I have a buddy that drives for em and has nothing but great things to say about the company, but all he's really said is to be patient. So I guess in the mean time I'll just be chomping at the bit until I here something. thanks guys for the help

Don't believe all the hype. Not all of our guys have 4 million miles of accident free driving. One new guy we hired tweaked the fairings of a new Cascadia the other month. We hire all types that make the same mistakes as drivers any where else would. You should have no issue if you're one of the first to apply and have been driving a tractor trailer during all of those years. One guy on here was saying how much he'd love to drive for WM and would basically scrub the toilets if they wanted him to, but then they found out he'd only been driving a tow truck and rejected his app saying he didn't have enough experience.

yep been driving tractor trailer since two months after my 20th birthday. Dry,Flatbed, hazmat, ltl and now refer. not ever been otr really just short haul in a day cab but it ain't nothing I can't adjust to. But the spring valley job was posted a few weeks back but I was waiting to see if the DC about 30min away was gunna open but I didn't want to loose the opportunity to apply so just went for that one I figure maybe I can at least get my foot in the door if theyll have me

Hey all. Been reading all the great threads regarding driving for Walmart. Thought I would ask for some guidance from you kind folks.
I applied for the New Braunfels TX DC and passed my phone interview last week. Set up for the pretrip test and road test for next week.
Can anyone tell me what to expect regarding the tests? Anything special Walmart looks for on pretrip? etc.
What does the road trip consist of. I would assume highway and side streets and backing of course. Anything y'all can remember? Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to joining the team.

I think it's going to be more like a rebid. With all the supposed program changes I think they will start at the top and go down the line until all the programs and trucks are filled. Everyone else is extra board. Hope that's not the case. I have a 5 day and don't want to lose my truck and get stuck on a 5/2-5/3. I was on that program before and hated it.
