Walmart here I come!

LA traffic is way worse than houston ever thought about being. The total metro is what counts. According to 2016 census report LA metro ranks #2 with 13 million right before Chicago @ 10 (million) with Houston @ (6 million) ranks #5 behind DFW at (7.5 million). So your talking over double the amount of people. I'm not saying it gives the right to cheat on logs regardless, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I don't blame the guys in Cali for wanting more. I mean they have chosen to live and work there but if you got guys out here in TX making 95,100k+ but LA and Chicago guys barely making 75,80k cause of dealing with traffic then I don't believe that's fair to your employees.
No reason why those guys should be making less just cause they happen to live in higher congestion/cost of living areas. Walmart should adjust their pay accordingly to be on par with that area. If I lived in Chicago deal with traffic/weather and was sleeping in a truck 4 nights a week and had no life for 74k I'd quit that job in a heartbeat.

 

Oh yeah, those 600+ mile first day out runs are long gone with Buckeye and Apple open. Short runs to LA or the Bay Area with the exception of an occasional start to Hurricane.

I probably did five live loads a year when I started. Now every BKH is a live load unless there isn't a live load open or taking me to where they want to send me. Wait time non existent back then now it's commonplace. We have transitioned from spending most of our time performing the highest paid activities to spending a large chunk of our time performing the lowest paid activity; pumping the clutch or waiting at a dock.

Don't get me wrong... it's still a hell of a lot better than where I came from, but things are changing.

 

Actually it's the 4th. Chicago is the 3rd ( http://www.moving.com/tips/the-top-10-largest-us-cities-by-population/ ) and why do you always mention this when mentioning Houston. I don't say Chicago is the 3rd largest city when mentioning Chicago. You must have some ego about it or something.
Second, you can't cheat your logs. They are electronic. You must work for a company that still using paper logs

 

I agree, the traffic runs north & south from santa Clarita all the way to san diego; appx. 160 miles, east from cajon pass to the ocean appx 100 mi
Its really hard to avoid traffic wherever you go; if your getting paid by the mile & sitting in traffic at least 50 percent of everyday ; it makes it very hard to make anything
Even some of the guys that were born & raised in los Angeles arent very excited about the amount of time they waste everyday sitting in traffic
or never getting a load out of the area
There families live in los Angeles, so transferring is not an option

 

Today, I have my phone interview with the Plainview, Texas Dc.. Can anybody give me some advice??? Also can anybody tell me about the where do the drivers deliver at in West Texas. I stay in dallas. Please help

You get all the east la storeloads;
I have considered transferring, its not so much cause im not making enough money
Its just not getting out of the la area ,
Even on the rare occasion i do get a load out of there , av or dispatch will try & get us straight back

 

Well I'm sure you've had your phone interview already so hopefully that went well? It's pretty simple just use common sense and think logical. As far as plainview drivers go... they cover western tx, New Mexico, and southern CO. You will get into dfw also for BH. Plainview drivers get lots of miles if they stay out of dfw

 

No I work for Walmart you are cheating when you are off duty and getting paid by Walmart you are cheating when you are driving under 15 mph on the off duty line I could go on and on and on
