For the record, in regards to Swift:
I had a great trainer who had been training folks for 16 years. So, I was able to not just learn the normal things one learns with a trainer, but also glimpse the insight 16 years of experience provides. I know I got lucky, but you can get good or not-so-good trainers with pretty much any company.
As for pay, I'm at 53.5 cpm, and while on the lower end of sorts, it is not low pay.
Also, Swift is a big, I think one of the biggest trucking companies. All those cities that are a pain in the butt to find parking, Swift has terminals, I don't have any problems finding parking in SoCal, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Denver and most other cities. Time of day don't matter. I just huff it to a terminal and I'm good.
Breakdowns, I make 1 phone call. Location doesn't matter, time of day doesn't matter. I make 1 phone call and whatever assistance I need in that situation is figured out and provided.
Anyway, those are some of the things about driving for Swift that I think are positives. I know that with any company a driver's specific fit and experience can vary significantly. But, I'm one who has a very good experience with Swift this far.Pamela1990, 1catfish, rasbellsouth and 4 others Thank this. -

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.
Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.
