As an 'older' driver I'm lucky I can turn my phone on let along do all the other stuff with apps I've never heard of before. (With apologies to 'older' drivers who are tech savvy)
I know a driver who doesn't have a cell phone, if he had an accident and they wanted his phone records but he doesn't have any wonder what they'd do ?

I am not sure what that is. Is that the police? No, I'm not. I'm just concerned and upset that this is being allowed to go on. I was never on board with cell phone use inside vehicles either. I think they causes multiple deaths every year. But, I'm not an insider. I'm just hoping to effect change by getting this exposed.MilkyJay and truckdriver31 Thank this.

I asked the other member what that term meant, but if you mean 'police', no, that's not me. I'm sorry if it sounds that way. I'm just concerned and trying to expose this dangerous safety issue.truckdriver31 Thanks this.

Maybe you should take it up with the FMCSA since it’s something you can’t just pin on WM drivers only. Pretty sure drivers from all sorts of companies do questionable things on their phones. It’s not like we’re dealing with over regulation in the industry already. Let’s add some more rules to the ever increasing list.
How about instead of hunting truck drivers on video calls, you go after the 4 wheelers (cars and pickups) who watch movies while driving, play games on their phones and don’t pay any attention to the vehicles around them, constantly cutting off trucks and slowing down while they respond to a text and then speed back up after they press “send”.
IMO there are so many other more pressing dangerous issues to address.black_dog106, REO6205, Treputt and 2 others Thank this. -

Maybe you should worry about you before you worry about the rest of the world. I don’t drive for Walmart and don’t talk on my phone much, but when I do it is as safe as talking to someone siting in my passenger seat as I use handsfree. 34 years of safe driving have taught me when to hang the phone up when I need to concentrate and not talk. Nobody needs some busy body like you to tell someone when to hang up. What you are referencing is how some people allegedly talk on their phones without being tracked should their employer (Walmart) request their phone records. It also is done hands free and is as safe as you listening to your radio while you drive. Find something legit to Bit@h about.Last edited: Mar 14, 2021
