I'm 36. Started working as a furniture lumper when I was 15. Got my class b at 18 and my cdl a at 21. Worked myself through college. Kept on driving a truck after college cos I was making great money. Like I'm gonna listen to some old fart tell me he can out work or out drive me. Guys with my kind of background have zero respect for crybabies living in the past like you.

Watch on the website and go for it. It is even better when you are a driver directly for them. Sealy would probably be your best bet, as long as you are within 250 miles from there. :)

Actually Sanger is closer, and I am. Sealy is way too far, and Palestine is close as well.

I disagree. No company is going to treat you better than a company you own is more like it. Walmart is a great position for company drivers but they require a certain level of experience. By the time a driver acquires that experience they could have they're own business more freedom and make a lot more than a walmart driver. Which is why I never saw the merit of a "premier" company driver position.

Well, I have to disagree. I was an owner operator for 16 years before I joined the private fleet. I promise you that I couldn't afford to treat myself as well as Walmart treats me. There are tons of ex owner operators that are now working for Walmart. I've been driving for 29 years and yes, you do need a certain amount of experience to make it here, but there are so many little things that are not "published" in public forums that make this the absolute best job I've ever had. Believe it or not, there is an extreme need for a "premier" company driver position because not all drivers are equipped to become owner operators nor do they want to take on that kind of responsibility in the latter parts of their career. You'll see this a lot when reading something about Walmart private fleet, you really have to work here to know the full scope.

Well then howbout we compare notes, I've posted some settlements on here lately. Take a look and see, my guess is its not even close, but then again maybe I can learn something from you, never know. http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...king-to-talk-to-a-solo-lease-op.304887/page-7

Those figures are nice to look at but tell it all. That is pre-tax income and we know that from those settlements, there will be pm's, tires, etc. And you also didn't post other factors. I made $102,586.43 last year with the private fleet and worked a 5 day work week. I didn't spend 1 night in a truck stop. I had 2 weeks PAID vacation, 6 PAID holidays, 4 PAID safety days, etc. If you take time off, there is no income. When the truck is in for service, there is no income. Don't just post pictures of your settlements without telling the whole story. The difference is, i kept EVERY penny I made last year. I can probably guess you did not keep everything you made on your 1099. The net is the difference, not the gross.

When I said net, I meant for the year - not just that particular settlement - can I have my cigar now?
