@runningman0661 the Walmart in Lexington Nebraska as I pulled out of there this morning after making a quick stop to do some shopping for a few items. There’s bags of garbage sitting on the front curb with those trucks are parked at night & on the fence just to the southeast side of the property has trash thrown all over it..

Coover, JoeyJunk and runningman0661 Thank this.

Only a matter of time before that Walmart says “enough is enough” and it becomes a “no fly zone” for truck parking!

Me personally, unless I’m doing dedicated loads out of Walmart DCs(and even then I try to get back to the DC if hours of service allows it) I always consider them off limits and try to find somewhere else to safely shutdown if it can be helped.

Some of the Walmart dc's won't let the dedicated trucks park overnight. Too many problems in the past with the idiots these companies hire.

Probably a special deal going on between the Walmart manager and the folks doing the booting, as long as they donate the proceeds to charity it don't bother me none.

I know. Some of those stores got tired of dealing with messes left behind and/or have ordinances to comply with regarding noise.

I find it laughable that a lot of these companies scream driver shortage. It seems that what this industry has a shorter job is decent standards… A lot of these companies can be to blame for this crap as well because their standards for drivers are just a pulse and breathing… I think it’s time to raise the standards in this business, and even put some dress codes in as well to make it, respectable nothing out of the ordinary just a decent pair of jeans and a nice shirt with shoes or boots and not flip-flops…

It is in need and a long time coming. Unfortunately its not just pay, but as you mentioned mentality, pride, and professionalism that is also lacking. Certain companies will pay a very competitive above market wage, but still has trouble getting "qualified drivers".

You can also give them a white button down shirt, but you still have a turd in a button down shirt with same bad habits.
With all the new safety nanny tech In trucks why are safety ratings, accidents, and drivers hitting stationary objects continuously rising?

I've asked this to the previous and current 4 safety manager I've had to which they all spout the same company Blah Blah. Hated to see him go but approximately 4 years ago my original safety guy (old school former driver) i believe saw the writing on the wall. Corporate told him he needs to hire more drivers for applicants pool. He told them he would not hire anyone he did not feel comfortable with and it was his final say on who he hired. Well shortly after he "Retired" and Corporate changed their hiring process to do Corporate way at mass on boarding events. Quality has suffered since.
