Ok. I just saw a sticker on an Amazon AFP truck that said "This Truck Does Not Turn On Red" I've never heard of a policy like this before, but I thought, well maybe this is a thing now. I guess it hasn't gone mainstream yet.

I worked at a place that had a no rt turn on red policy. The problem was the trucks were real dogs and guys would think they had a good opening and make a turn and get nailed by a car that was way up the street before they started their turn. It took the truck forever to get up to 40 Mph and someone would nail them so the truck driver got at least one ticket. It became a fireable offense and they put decals on the trailers to warn the cars behind you that they may have to sit a minute or two until the light was green. They would sit there and blare their horn and cuss and scream but that's how it goes when you have an underpowered POS and a company policy....

Some places actually need those policies.

It doesn't take very long until the light is green. Just turning the corner takes a while and traffic is a lot heavier than it used to be. I can understand them doing this. It takes a while to get going, get around the corner then get up to speed. Or the infrequent goober that just slows down to 30 instead of stopping, looks real quick, then whips into a turn and rolls it over on it's side because they were in a big hurry. After one or few trucks get slammed into, they decided this is the best way to prevent claims, complaints and lawsuits. I am not against this really.

Even in my car I often wait until the green light to turn right unless there is no traffic in any lane.
El Hueso Thanks this. -
It's not a very long wait. If someone comes flying through going 80 changing lanes into the right lane, your lane is suddenly the death lane as you turn into it even though it was clear when you checked. People just can't be trusted now.
