Peterbilt and Walmart together have the ambition to change the future. Hybrid powered-Areodynamic Big Rigs! The future sadly doesnot include the a single owner operator able to jump on one of those Space-Age trucks without having deep pockets. The Mega-Fleets will benefit huge fuel cost saving and over time will become more powerful financially and politically.
My question to the Mega Fleets, will they offer better pay/increases and benefits to lure more experienced drivers? Right now new E-class trucks, cheap student labor and Fleet Fuel Network discounts are driving profitability.
