Anyone out of the Gas City, Indiana DC running local?

 

Sounds like 6/3 is a good compromise between 5/2 which is too little weekend for me and 5/3 which sounds like it'd eat into your earnings.

Out six days, back three.... not bad not bad.

I live up 50 miles north from Boston. Anybody know which DC I'd be out of if I applied? How are the runs up here in the Northeast? their website says +5% northeast bonus... I'd like to stay in new england if I can, but I'm guessing they would take the chance and send me out into PA, NJ, delaware, etc?

 

Look into Lewiston ME or Raymond NH. You will run NE/possibly some Mid Atlantic. 5/2-5/3 is the best compromise between pay and weekends off...6/3 pays less, but more frequent weekends.

 

Running out of Raymond you'd occasionally end up in PA, NJ and running a load out of Tobyhanna or the dreaded Pottsville unless you got on a day cab, think they brought some of them back. You'd also be in Lewiston a lot as they never seem to have enough drivers, if they get very busy they'll deadhead drivers up there from Raymond.
Are you a Granite stater or a Maniac ? I'm in the former and ran out of Raymond.

 

You actually work the same amount of days on each program throughout the year, but I agree the pay is a little less on the 6/3 because on the sixth day I usually only have a little over 6 hrs left on my 70. Still 95k or so where I work out of.

 

Definitely not making that on a 6/3 running out of 6080!

 

Wait a second.... 6/3 is a higher ratio of days out to days in vs 5/3... so wouldn't it pay more? or is the 6th day, like someone said below, scant on the 70hr clock at that point? with 5/2 vs 5/3 how big is the pay difference? up here in the northeast?

maine is nice, high speed limits for this region, not much traffic... what's the wallyworld trucks governed at?

and why is pottsville pa dreaded? is it a grocery warehouse or sumpin?

 

There is no 5/3...it’s a 5/2-5/3, 5/2 or 6/3(most common). Idk the pay difference between the 5 day programs offhand. Yes, Pottsville is a grocery DC....running out of there, a lot of runs are on hilly/twisty secondary roads that really burn your time up

 

its the number of days in that pay period. i dont believe you get a full 10.

 

I hate the area they go into, Philly, NJ and of course Long Island NY. It is a grocery DC but they pay a bit extra to go to Long Island, or they used to.

I live a bit further North in Moultonborough, known as Moultonberry by the kids You live close enough to do a day cab if you wanted and one's available.
Trucks were governed to 65 mph.
