Yea I'm not look to start with WM. I was just asking about other companies pulling their stuff. But I do thank you for the advice. And as far as a contract. I'm paying for my own school, I've been well warned by a friend that drives not to do that so when I hit the road I'll own me and no one else.
But again thanks for the info.

The only drivers driving Wal Mart trucks are Wal Mart employees... No Werner driver is driving a Wal Mart tractor... Yes, many dedicated companies pull Wal Mart trailers. Depending on locale, it could be grocery FDD or sometimes dry Grocery... Out of GM DCs it is overflow only.

Cheyenne (WY), Tracy Clark (NV), and Sterling (IL) are CR England. The WM drivers tended to just haul the dry grocery loads while CRE hauled the reefer loads. WM can't possibily keep up the driver pool needed given their high standards, so they contract it out and let another carrier take the fall for poorer CSA scores. Win-win on their part. Get cheaper drivers with less experience and lesser records, but don't get hit on CSA.

Yep^ on the grocery side of things, they pull the trailer, but aren't driving the tractors.

Depending on where you are, Walmart has subcontracting out for as long as I can remember. At one point here out of Reno DC Greatwide did alot of it but has since lost the contract, so now England is doing it. I guess Walmart is still has cheap has they have always been and believe me I do not mean that in a good way.

I haul for target and its pretty much who can give a better offer. the dc im at there is my carrier and Schneider. at the other dc a state down its werner and dart. and the other jb hunt and swift. All comes down to who can give the better offer and hold up their part of the contract.
