I don't see why not. I run out of ohio.. but like you said go otr check it out see if its for you then if it isnt transfer to the wm account.. you will have to run otr for atleast 90 days before you can transfer if you go the route.. Plus its always better to transfer intercompany than job hopping to another company so soon into it. Sni has tons of different opportunities and so far I have been treated very well.. not to say it hasn't had its moments but you get that with any job. If you have any more indepth questions about running wm pm me.

Dont ya have to live like 70 miles or certain amount of miles? away from the route to get anything dedicated? Cuz I dunno? I only see 2 dedicated in VA and they are Dollar General in charlottesville and South Boston VA. Why does everyone hate the DG and Family Dollar routes? unload time or what? I see a walmart dedicated in Gordonsville Va =that would be good I bet. Just double check make sure you qualify Im pretty sure ya have to live certain amout of miles from dedicated route like 70 miles or something?

WorriedMom, I think you're right about the 70 miles rule. I believe Dollar General routes require the driver to unload the truck, so that would be a pain. Hey, how's your son doing?

Never heard of someone right out of cdl school getting a dedicated, thats probally a recruitier salesman thing lol cuz thats kinda the job everyone wants and you will probally run otr a bit before getting that, when you get there, if you don't get enough otr training (speak up), no other company just gives a standard of 5 days Otr training, thats a schneider thing. Ya wont' make much money (mostly cause you bobtail alot looking for empty trailers they don't know where they are for some reason, and its very hard to get home on day you requested. If ya hire in regional otr, off weekends, you will run all of east, or all of west not so regional and ya might get home 1 weekend a month just depends on your Dbl. Not to scare you, but to prepare you -its not all bad, but 1st 6 months is probally gunna be real ruff no matter where you go. I think to start off drving teams if your really young may help depends on who ya team with I guess.

Found this ya might not want dedicated afterall=

Dedicated was not good from our prespective

My hubby ran dedicated for Schneider & OTR and his pay was far less on dedicated than OTR and the equipment was junk. He had a 99 Freight Liner conventional OTR but was given an old doghouse cabover when he went dedicated. It broke down more than it ran. He went back to OTR after 6 wks.

There are no cab overs in the fleet and there havent been for quite sometime. Finding 1 listing that states expreienced drivers isn't the end all be all of what has been available. Trust me I work the account.. please go back to complaining about sni not giving enough training as you know tons about that and little about this. Stop misinforming rawesome about this..
