Of course! I'm still with them! I said Rohel because far as I know they pay you while you train to get your CDL. Swift you don't start getting paid until the mentor process

Thanks. I'm in the process of getting to swift, just have to finish my air breaks test and pre trip test and I'll be set.

Was school for you also 3 weeks? And how long after school did it take for you to be with your mentor.

Yea school was 3 weeks. & after school you start a 3 day orientation Monday-Wednesday. On the last day of orientation most people had mentors those who didn't got one the following day. You will enjoy it! Just keep practicing & good luck!

I also went with swift. Mainly because they didn't require you to stay with them to complete the contract. If you left the company before a year then you had to pay the full amount of the loan instead of sharing it with them. My schooling and orientation was 2.5 weeks. Figure on not getting paid for a month because you have to put in that first week with your mentor before you get paid.

What exactly did you do in school?

Local community college training usually means weeks and weeks and weeks of training before any possibility of a paycheck. The training is usually much, much better than 3 week CDL schools like I attended, but 3 week schools means only having to survive 3-4 weeks before some sort of paycheck. I was faced with waiting a couple of months to get into a FL community college program that lasted 8 or 12 weeks versus leaving FL and starting a 3 week school next week. Because I had a job lined up once I got the CDL I opted for the fast school and paycheck thereafter.

I studied for the exams and did the basic backing skills test. That was basically it. I passed everthing first time out and was sent with a mentor the next day to start my training.
