Wanna get back in saddle again

Hello to all, new member very nice site.I am not a puter smart person so please excuse if iam posting in wrong place. sure this Q has been asked before but dont know were to find. I have 18 yrs exp in trucking 15 otr last ticket was in 98 for speeding no accendents ever knock on wood. Had to take time off for wife medical issues and then turned into a long vacation for me, 2 yrs off, Now that i tryed to return to work i find that no one seems interested in hiring with the reason that ive been out of truck to long, a few said that they would put me with a trainer and would be like starting over, Iam sure thigs have changed in 2 yrs and i undertand the industry is slow, is it realy that bad out ther now and is this normal for someone with my exp and clean record. Surely i hope havnt forgot how to drive. Thanks for any input and sorry if i posted in wrong place.
