Thanks American, couldnt see the videos but I am hearing what your saying. Thats why I wanted to ask. I dont mind surprises, but only on Christmas and B-days. Guess the company route is the way for us to go.

That to me would be just the minimum so that's why people say it's better to go out on someone elses dime to learn. You only hear the bad side of company driving and most the time if you follow like they do in school you'll have some stories too. But that doesn't mean you have to. You can go out and find a job differently than the masses and most of the time you'll find a decent company.justthetwoofus Thanks this. -
Thanks for the input GasHauler. I was just figuring with the extra money from O/O pay, that it would make up for the expenses. Minus a catastophic failure. But, from what I am hearing on here I think we should go the company route for now.

it would be a good idea to do your learning on a company truck--but do like what the other guy said--run it as tho it was your truck--keep track of all expenses and miles and it shoulkd give you an idea if it will be worth it to have your own truck
with your own truck generally there is a bit more lee way as to what you have for time off and where you go--but then again when stuff is broken--its all up to you you are your own breakdown phone call
with each way there are pros and cons--and with each way it is possible to make a good livingjustthetwoofus Thanks this. -
I think that is a good idea too. Maybe after a year or two of running for a company the economy will bounce back and decide if it is worth it then. Thanks Canuck

I agree that you need experience, but if you can hold off for about 6 months while your wife gets the experience and she signs on with a reputable company that has a company school, then she could take a trainers course while you go through the school and then you can train with her and never look back. Then when you both feel confident enough about your skill and the economy, you can make the decision about buying the truck. Thanks for serving. I have four sons that serve. Two in the ARMY and two in the NAVY. Peace and God Bless!

naw.... just float 'em like I do.
My knee (left) was bad enough for me to retire (had my 22 years anyway), but hasn't really slowed my down driving. Now, I will say that I feel it after a bad traffic jam.. that's when the cane becomes a bit more useful. Seriously, I just open up more space between myself and the next vehicle and select a crawling gear to keep my leg off the clutch.justthetwoofus Thanks this. -
Thanks, I also have a son in the Navy. I win, end of story, I'm higher on the food chain haha.
