Wannabe trucker concerns

If you really want good advice, Go to any truck stop, preferably one like TA or Petro and sit at the drivers only counter in the restaurant. I have discovered in my short time driving long haul coast to coast. That if you want to get expert advice about any subject there is. You can get your answer from a truck driver. Newbies and veterans alike. You will be absolutely amazed at the expertise on every subject there is from any time period in history that you will get from truckers anywhere.

 

I am def not an expert. I start training on August 3rd for my CDL. I agree with ONGB with that you need to be upfront and honest about everything. I had some issues with my past and I applied with Swift, Stevens, Prime, Schnieder, and Roehl. I gave them all the info my recruiter needed. Schneider doesn't take on students any longer, and Roehl denied my application. Stevens and Prime gave me pre-hires and verified my employment and went back 11 years on my MVA since I live in MD. Needless to say, its better to get it out in the open now and be denied with no loss to you, then hide something and they find it later, and fire you for lying on your application. Then that goes on your DAC and then you are screwed. Best of luck to you.
