if ur anywhere near new england try trash hauling...no joke if u know how to work a log book u can bring home a grand a week after taxes and be home every weekend if u run legal then probally 600-700 after taxes percentage pay and like i said home every weekend and some nights home during the week only problem is the rat race gets old and u get sick running out of boston all the time
also most of the trash hauling companies do hire newbies but u gotta have ur license already before u apply
Want miles!!!

just let me say it before all the haters come along.... YOU ARE THE REASON FOR THE ELOG MANDATE
there its overNumb Thanks this. -
Lets take off the $$ goggles and come back to reality. Expect to be out 3 weeks Expect about 22- 2500 miles. Expect from 27-31cpm. When you get some expierence you might find what you looking for but I doubt it.
The companies who like to turn and burn don't like you to take home time, and their safe stat scores are crappy. You might can get on with Warner or Swift they have lots of dedicated accounts which can get you home weekly but you might have to do a lot of unloading. Doubt you will ever see 3,000 miles though. You also have to understand most of the starter companies trucks don't even go over 62mph. So hope you consider all those things b4 getting your hopes up.NavigatorWife and TRKRSHONEY Thank this. -
Forget the home on weekends + 3000 miles every week.
Not trying to discourage you, but it's just not realistic.
You will have to run 600 miles per day, monday thru friday, and the friday 600 miles ends at your house.
Where do you live? Maybe someone on here can recommend a good company.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -

gotta love the mentality this industry puts on people..... RUN RUN RUN you dont make any money unless you run!! that's why I do what I do, cause I FINALLY woke up and realized...... it's not how many miles you run, it's what you run them for.
Dinomite and Guitar Man Thank this. -
Numb Thanks this.

You want Less miles, More money. Quit buying into the big company mentality where you run your butt off for the same check as someone that runs 1800 miles per week. People willing to work cheap are one of the reasons for low freight rates.

The Days of run your azs off all week and do 3K miles and still be home on friday night are long gone my friend!! You have to work smarter not harder nowadays, and since your a fresh one your gonna have to pay your dues like anybody else has in this wonderful industry. Like stated earlier find a smaller regional company that fits your needs and you should be able to make money and get home, just dont be so naive and think your gonna set the world on fire from the start.
TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.
