I know this company around me that does heavy haul and my dad use to work for them back in the 80s/90 it's a family company and he use to have problems getting paid on time or the full amount I was wondering if you think they would of change by now or do you think there still up to the same-day old same old and the reason I'm asking is because I see signs saying there will train the right person and it might be a good way into rgn type of work

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Don't even think about it. That "will train right person" simply means someone who won't demand to be paid on time.

But it's been about 20 years since then and they must be doing something right to stay in business

This isn’t meant as smart aleck comment, but it could go either way. Things could’ve gotten a lot better in 20 years, or worse. If your dad still has connections ask him if he knows anyone who still works and talk to them. This could go either way, and unfortunately, short of finding a current driver and talking to them, it’s going to be a try-it-out for yourself scenario. I will say a lot of times “will train the right person” is code for they’re gonna try to hold that over your head when it doesn’t work out. And do the whole guilt trip of the money they spent and the time they invested training you. And/or hope you’re none the wiser when they try to pull the wool over your eyes. Just my experiences. Best of luck in whatever you decide.

There is a reason they are willing to train the right person. If they were good. They wouldn't need to be putting out a sign like that.
