They still are among the safest carriers on the road. Statistics trump your opinion. Last time I checked the maximum speed limit for trucks in CA is 55, so you are whining about a truck going 57-58 when you pass them. You can't pound the facts, so you pound the table and whine thinking personal attacks strengthen your weak argument. LOL!

    What do you mean?

I actually have picked up Euro Truck Simulator 2. I wanted to get a US-based one, but their latest title to the US-based series of games isn't out yet, and I don't like the older graphics from the last game.

ETS2 is pretty fun, and it gives an idea of shifting, and helps you get your mind around what I'm going to call (because I don't know the real term for it) Displaced 3D Orientation... That is, being able to keep your truck, and whatever you're pulling, from hitting things. Also, it's shown me how odd backing up with a truck can be. It's a difficult skill to pickup (at least in the game). However, I don't think you can get the full effect of that game without a full-on simulator ####pit, with wheel, pedals, shift, and all. Still a fun game to play, though. Especially with the company management also included in the game.

Trying to keep within your lane while cars are zooming at you at over 80MPH (Not KPH, even) while on a highway in Germany can be stressful in that game. Trying to do it in real life must have caused more than a few dirty pants. During my first run, I ended up totaling my load, almost totaling the truck itself, and got more than a few traffic ticks due to not starting to stop on time at a red light and ended up passing it. And I rammed a few cars while making left turns.

My only gripe with the game is that the payouts seem absurdly high. 3,500 euros to drive about 200 miles, with the company you're running for paying for everything? Either that's quite inflated (and if it is, I would have appreciated something more realistic), or truckers in Europe are making bank.

And yes, before you guys attack me, I know it's just a game -_- Still helps you understand a lot of the concepts involved with trucking. And the safety issues.

Yes, it was Euro Truck Sim 2. I forgot to add the 2 in there. I've not played the original and didn't know there was going to be a USA based version. Driving on the wrong side of the road can be confusing. It can indeed be a handful by itself let alone the other trucks, traffic, speed cameras, tight turns, backing, etc. etc.. I am just getting started with it myself but there seems like a fair amount to it to keep you into it for awhile.

Yep, the 18 Wheels of Steel series of games. The latest game in the series will be called American Truck Simulator. Should be a pretty fun game, similar to ETS2 but with a few more features and set in the USA (And I think Canada/Mexico?). Supposedly over 100 cities to travel through and deliver in. If you're enjoying ETS2, it should be a game to look forward to. No release date, however :(
