Honestly do it ...buy a used truck and rent the trailer. If it doesn't work out for you the truck can always be sold. Just do not buy something for 30, 40 or 50 thousand dollars. I bought a 2012 Cascadia for $16,000 and I've made over $200000 with it in like 2 1/2 years. Theres nothing like running your own loads ...insurance will be high for the first 2 years but after that it drops ...as long as your a safe driver

China Town, can you answer my question please:
I am wondering how thrilled employers will be with my driving record when I graduate from CDL school. My tickets:
1.) FAILURE TO OBEY SIGNS OR CONTROL DEVICES, 6-18-2018, points 3.
2.) FAILURE TO OBEY STOP SIGN: 12-12-2013
    No accidents.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I think you're OK to be hired by many companies.
The "Failure to obey stop sign" ticket is 6 years old, so probably won't even be required to list it.
Read the questions carefully because most questions ask about tickets during a certain time frame, such as "Have you had xyz ticket within the last 3 years?" The stop sign ticket is 6 yrs. old, so you answer "no."
Trucking companies will see it anyway and it won't matter, but, you still don't have to list it if the question goes back only 3 years.
What type trucking job are you looking for?

One that takes me back to the Atlanta area every 2 weeks or so. I would rather not travel to NY, NJ or CA. It says I have 3 points against me. My school has asked for 7 year history. I like the North West, but learning to drive in snow may be questionable. I would graduate March 6 or March 7 of next year. I am planning to get extra endorsements too to hopefully qualify for a higher paying job. I just passed the physical today :)

Some companies don't force NYC, so ask about that.
