ive been in trucking for a few years now and have wanted to always own my own truck. The problem is I don’t have good credit or a lot of money down. I’ve been looking into companies for days now and can’t seem to find the best one. ( not sure if it’s all bs they are telling me). I’ve talked to tmc, riverside, KLLM, decker, Baylor, hurrican, Waller, fest trucking, road legends, Spoerl, us express, and looked at prime. Any tips or advice would be grateful

Never do lease to own, the likely hood of you owning the truck at the end are slim to none but I'd your dead seat on learning the hard way ACT or ATS has a try one deal that I heard is pretty decent. Try it out for a year to see If you have what it takes.
Stringb8n, Puppage and Irishtruck1989 Thank this. -
Check out John Christner Trucking (JCT). They have a very good success rate for drivers getting the title to their lease truck. You'll be chasing miles though as they pay by the mile.

Lease purchase can be done. The biggest problem I no of is.
They all want to charge you weekly.
So you cant go home for any period of time. If you take a week off, when you come back you have that weeks payment plus the payment that was due your week off. Takes about 2 weeks to catch up, so won't see a settlement for 3 weeks.
The other problem is you will wind up paying for a truck and a half compared to regular financing.
I suggest yo anyone going that route. DO NOT fall in love with your truck. Get the least expensive one possible. Run it for a year, while saving maximum amount, and/or fixing your credit. Then at years end take that saving and go BUY a truck from outside financing.DieselDisciple, James j, mwhjr1988 and 4 others Thank this. -

Lease to own can be done... The only Lease to own I would recommend is from a local friend or neighbor where you can work out some deal. Set payments and no interest.

Run your business correctly and you can do that. Wife didn't work, so there was no supplemental income. We have traveled to Europe for a month, taken numerous 7-10 day cruises and just time off in general. Oh, did I mention I'm debt free (except for truck payment).Todd_Walker, PiscesLuv, DieselDisciple and 4 others Thank this.
