So I have about 4 years exp I've done mostly dry van and a couple reefer plant loads. Im wanting to try and find reefer company to switch to. Im wanting to try something different. So I'ma looking for suggestions for some good companies I live about a hour from Asheville,NC wanting to find companies with APUs, fridges and inverters and I want to be able to take home around $1000 a week roughly. Also looking for nice equipment and im Currently staying out a month at a time so not too much of a issue for going home basically once a month for at least 4 days

That's a tall order, but something is out there to meet your wants.
Do some research on Tribe Transport.
MC VanKampen is another to check.
K&B Transportation has a guaranteed minimum $1125 weekly.
Use the search feature on here and check A&A Express out of Brandon,SD and Freymiller out of Oklahoma City,OK. They have the truck amenities you want, but not sure about the take home pay. Some of their drivers can answer that on their threads.

Reefer sucks. Dry van is so much easier. The pay is same.

Please explain? I'm new to trucking, and all I have is reefer experience. They told me it was more miles, so I went with it. My mentor told me it stays moving in the winter time when dry freight slows down. I drive for Swift and in the month of May I ran almost 11,000 miles, so I'm definitely not complaining about how much work I'm getting.

I would love to hear any and all opinions about which is better and why.

The best reefer outfit will be one that is strictly Drop & Hook. Pull in, sign in, pull an empty out; sign out. 'Dedicated Reefer'.

Much reefer work is pull in, sit in the dock for 6 hours (unpaid), drag the same trailer away. Cuts your pay; decreases your productivity.

I've always heard reefer pays more than dry van cause it's more consistent miles cause of it being more of a food aspect and people going to eat. I've looked into tribe and have been considering them but there pay seems low 0.38cpm they do have nice equipment I currently make 0.47 cpm but .10 is per diem company required I have all the amenities I asked for as truck stuff I have a 2017 truck with apu fridge and inverter but we can be inconsistent with freight cause we're a smaller otr company about 200 trucks so some weeks 1000 miles others close to 3000 average is 2200 im just burned out with the same thing and it's pretty much same runs if im going to be out as long as I am kinda wanna see different stuff and try something new

This is the boon & the bane.
    It's food.

    Consistent miles - check. Boon.
Long waits and outrageous lumper fees - check. Bane.
