Warm-up procedures when starting from a cold start?

Meh.
I'm the odd person here, seems I'm younger than most, and a woman, that makes me the outsider, not you.

But our differences is what makes it interesting. If we were all the same, it would be boring.
IMO Oxbow, your a great source of knowledge, and your posts enjoyable.

 

25 minutes might be more than necessary, but I think you are going about things the right way.

Obviously some disagree, and that's fine, but for what it's worth folks have done what you are doing for a long time.

I think that where one lives makes a lot of difference in the definition of winter too.

 

Anyone with the experience that you have is not an outsider in my mind, especially with your desire to learn more. Gender has nothing to do with it. Most on here never chain up a truck in their lifetime. It's never fun, but as you have learned it is much better to throw the iron on before you need it than when you need it.

I am not admonishing those that don't chain up because most parts of the country (U.S.) it isn't necessary. But if a person runs the Intermountain West, it is pretty darn hard to make a living if you don't throw iron once in awhile, and in BC I imagine it's a daily ritual in the winter.

I'm getting off topic here, but let's just say that I doubt many people think of you as an outsider.
