I've seen drivers put a triangle in front of the vehicle while on the shoulder of the interstate. :biggrin_25511:

I rarely see a driver put any triangles out.. whichis not surprising since many wont or cant even walk 100ft to use the restroom. .....

What gets me the most is when drivers are broke down or out of hours on the shoulder with no flashers or triangles close to the white line

You know something funny? I set my triangles up when stopped on the shoulder in January. The first thing a police officer did was pick them up and hand them to me when he pulled over. He said I didn't need them and to put them away... Um? You sure, Officer?

Local yokel didn't know up from down. I do believe Federal law over rides him, at least on an interstate.

I saw a guy yesterday on the I30 just outside of Dallas on the shoulder no flashers no triangles, the back of his trailer over the line, and he is walking around kicking his tires! The next exit was less than 100 feet ahead and the truck stops were 2 exits ahead. And this was around 6 pm, still moderate traffic flow.

I've always counted the paces it takes to walk from the front to the rear of the trailer, 53 ft. Double the count to get to 100ft, and double it again to get to the second hundred.
