And to think that someone gave that fool a badge, a gun and authority to enforce the law, LEO's are "supposed" to have common sense.

amazingly how drivers think that one or two are good, especially if they are placed in front of the truck.

Most of the breakdowns around here the drivers have them within 15 feet of the rear of the truck, nothing more. On a curve, they may put them out at 20 feet.

What puzzles me is how come a lot of them are smashed up on the side of the road. I mean they are placed not near the edge of the shoulder but rather in the middle and they still get hit somehow.

Who the heck counts their own paces with on coming traffic ?
Common sense, Watch traffic, Put down triangles best of your judgment and get to a safe haven.

If Law enforcement dont like it, they can re adjust the triangles ( not gonna happen ) Stupid motorist is still gonna run over triangles no matter what. In theory many moons ago was good idea, now it's put on safety vest so texting soccer mum / teen has a target lol

Least of my concern is counting paces. How about trying to put back those dang things in the box and in macks the stupid holder :biggrin_2559:

I make it a point not to break down during inclement weather. So far so good.

Not everybody needs to sit down and take off their boots when they get up past 10 paces. It really isn't all that difficult to walk while counting your steps AND watching traffic.

As for placement on the shoulder, I usually place the 1 @ 10' near the fog line, no further out than the corner of my trailer. The 1 @ 100' I set near the center of the shoulder, and the 1 @ 200' is off near the grass side of the shoulder. I've never had one run over yet.

...and getting them back into the box isn't really all that difficult either. They go back in the same way they came out each and every time.

    BrenYoda883 and 48Packard Thank this.

.....but if you put 'em back in the box and you don't have any parts left over, you're doing it wrong....

"Parts left over" is the condition I'm usually in after tearing into the root cause of the breakdown and getting the truck put back together. Over the years, I've probably lost 50-60 pounds off my tare weight in unnecessary parts & pieces that I didn't need when putting it back together...

Least of my concern counting steps for official federal/state policies, 3 are out. Warns motorist job done.

Next will have to use collapsible highly reflective barriers with distilled water D.E.P approved and a permit to use flares and calling DOT hotline we are broke down 50 feet off highway
