Another useful 'tool' to have in the johnny box is the air hose that you can attach to the air lines on the trailer to air up you tires. It saved Nik some hassle at a scale once within a couple of days of buying it. They actually came out and thumped his tires.

Being prepared out there on the road is necessary and can save you time, hassle, money and most importantly your life. Have some tools, spare lights, a tow chain, extra oil/antifreeze, belts air hose to air your tires up, jumper cables, first aid kit, food, whatever may aid you basically. Use common sense and plan for what you plan for and be as prepared for whatever may come up as you can. Just sayin

It is absolutely possible for a mudflap to just fall off. This crappy XTRA lease trailer I'm yanking around Boston right now shed one, including the bracket. Seems some wingnut welded to a rusty spot or something when installing it. Anyway it was there and fine on pretrip and now its missing and the only evidence left is a globby rusty attempt at a weld. Funny, it didn't even feel loose...

    rocknroll nik Thanks this.
