Easy to say when it's not your family or friend who gets waylayed. I'm not one overly friendly towards onerous regs. At the same time I am not with any sympathy for those who are under insured or sightseeing for fuel money, who have no legitimate claim nor reason as to why they help suppress real world rates, no sympathy at all seeing those duallies get harassed by DOT. The way I see it that's DOT doing their job, keeping shysters off the highways, educating you for a price.

I think it is good when they catch them running without signs, logs, medical cards, insurance, authority.
In fact, I wish there was a national number to call in for them to be caught.critters and rollin coal Thank this. -
What does "I used to be a DOT" mean?
Were you the department of transportation or some sort of paper pusher?
I don't know anything about you but you seem not to remember the way things were in the real world before deregulation. -
After reading 3 of the guy's posts I think he's on something to be honest. Normal people do not think that way.

A.D.D. moment....
But it seems more regulations are coming about after deregulation...
Weird..... back to your regularly scheduled topic.

Isnt this the entire trucking industry now? Its either 70 year old retired government workers looking to supplement their retirement check or its a homeless ex-con who cant find anything else to do and would not have a pillow to lay his head on if not for that sleeper behind his seat.
Either way they can both live on $300 a week and never need to be home. -
There are unmarked expedite vans and old yellow pensky box vans running up and down the road everyday running like this.

The sad truth is if you're in a under 10,000 gvw van & unmarked, very few of these rules apply.

See them in duallies pulling cargo trailers big enough for a couple of cars.
