Warning! Windows Service Pack 3!

Anyone who can stay away from MS Vista! I had an older laptop (about 3 years old) with Windows XP Pro and it ran like a champ! Booted up quickly and had no real problems. Just bought a brand new Toshiba with Vista on it and it's a dog! OMG the old one booted up faster! I was told I can't install XP on my machine due to lack of drivers for the new hardware...oy vay! For the $900 I paid for this machine I should have just upgraded the old one...ah, isn't hide sight always 20/20?

 

The problems with XP Service Pack 3 seem to be limited now only to computers that have an AMD processor, and not all of those. I've had it installed at work now for a week and haven't had any problems (so far!). In reality, SP3 doesn't add any significant new features anyway. It just has all of the patches that have been released to date so you're not missing out on anything by not installing it.
