A tax write off is not dollars in your pocket, it is not even a dollar for dollar trade. This is a bad deal.

Lone Mountain Truck leasing seems to be a good deal, compared to JCT. Pay a down payment. Pay monthly and at the end of the term its yours. $11500 down 2300 a month for a brand new pete. I think thats a high payment. The only question is the 518 does this include tags, ins, taxes ect? If so maybe its not such a bad deal. Ive never been an L/O or O/O so im intrested in learning what all the 518 was for, it cant really be for a used 07 model truck.

Lone Mountain doesn't like people that the bank doesn't like. Don't believe me? Go talk to them! Better yet go in person, south of Omaha on I 29.

Positive: You can lease on to any company they approve.
Negative: You can't lease on to any conpany they don't approve.

Thanks for stating the obvious, I think i should fire my CPA and hire you. I don't even drive for LCT. But, thinking that this is a bad deal based solely on the numbers given at the beginning of this thread is narrow minded. So, given your logic if CR England, Transam, Prime or Stevens will lease you a 2011 truck for $300 a week, that's a good deal? :biggrin_2556: It is this exact logic that lets these 4 companies and others rip off drivers all week long.

Have you ever heard " I'm not a truck driver, I'm just a guy who drives a truck!"?
Yea, Only people who really can say they are Truckers are the men and women who actually run under their own authority. Everything else is Smoke!

Never lease from the hand that feeds you

I did , it sucked ... But I was lucky enough to pay my truck off and run with my clear title ....

Be wise and be able to move your truck if you need to

If you can't move it ... Are you really a O/O or a glorified company driver saving the company you lease from thousands in benefits and payroll taxes

    Think before you sign

First off, I said nothing about CR England or any other company. I stated that the lease purchase the OP was talking about was a bad deal. I also stated that the tax write off is not a dollar for dollar trade as you implied in your previous post. Paying more than the market value for ANY kind of equipment is not good business sense.
