Depends on your area, theres alot of local work that isn't that bad. Think outside the box, i make the same suggestions over and over. Look to companys that haul their own freight, building materials, plumbing suppliers, smaller roll off, end dumps running to and from land fills, excc...

Get on with one of their contracted companies that move the garbage from WM to the land fill. Hardest part is rolling the tarp on top of the trailer. They tend to pay decent home daily. Always hiring because some ppl can't stand being around garbage all the time.

If you're looking at being home daily look into construction companies and bigger landscape companies. I've had my CDL 3 years and never been OTR. I drive for a landscape company part time and an asphalt company 40 hours and still have time to Spend with family every night. Go knock on some doors. The landscaper I work for didn't realize his 15k trailer required a class A until I told him.

I'm not making fun but how do they fit in those tiny cabs? That's gotta be uncomfortable.

Drivers that haul trash tend to get sick a lot.

Front loads are just as bad or worse, cab over while not being lifted, almost like standing up.

Funny this thread came up. I have talked to 3 people who drive for them. Good bennies and pay but they are the like the KGB and East German Stasi.

One guy told me that they took pictures of him and his trainer doing something wrong and presented him with them.

    No thank you to that.
