That's what I said. I thought it was crazy as well. But that's what I was told.

 

from what I have seen just from them in my neighborhood, my morning smoke is usually right around when they do there thing, if you get a job doing that it doesn't seem that hard. They stop as little as plausibly possible, if theres 2 houses next to each other and 2 acrss the street, they'll park the driver will grab the two on his side, helper on his side, then they put the cans on the back and press the button and it unloads it into the truck, then they go up 200 more feet and do the same, on sections where theres only like one house with a can the helper does it driver will stay put. Also if you have been doing OTR assuming that was a 70ft vehicle, the 20 something foot garbage truck will probably be a breeze.

I can find $12/hr trucking jobs on Craigslist all the time. Not even an issue.

When you break down what they pay at the Mega-crap companies, most make far less then $12/hr.

If that is not bad enough, there is no problem finding jobs that pay $.30-.35 CPM for experienced drivers advertised. That is less then a newbie at a mega. Every once in a while, I call those jobs up and harass the guy on the other end. Sometimes these ######## will even call me back!
