Believe it or not, plugging off the wastegate gives you less power in a lot of cases with an electronic engine. The ECM will see that boost is higher than it should be and assume its due to over-fueling. A mechanical engine is a different story though.
daf105paccar Thanks this. -
His wastegate is stuck open it sounds like. If you decide you want to keep the wastegate actuator hooked up, remove the hose and blow shop air through to verify it is working properly and verify that it is not leaking air. Those diaphragms inside go bad causing a boost leak

Cam, I'm sure this was blocked off for a long time and I'm sure the wastegate is frozen so I'll try to heat it up to break it loose hopefully it will free up,when I get back home.Is there any kind of o rings in inside don't want to melt anything with the torch heat.

No orings in there.
-
Thanks

So what if the wastegate is closed.
-
Then you don’t have a major boost leak at the turbo.
-
Then the truck is just slow. Maybe I can turn it up a little.
-
Shouldn’t be. You need a boost gauge in order to know where to start lookingRoger McG Thanks this.
