My new driver coming on board in January of 2010 is leaving Celadon. Reason for leaving is that he is tired of the games they play. Can't idle truck when temperature to cold or to hot. Sits for 2 days middle of nowhere waiting for load. 2 or 3 weeks on the road before he get's home.

I'm new in this industry, from what I can see everyone is bending backwards to make customers happy by hauling cheap freight. No one cares about the driver that's away from the family and the sacrafices they make.

Why are we in this mess? Very simple it's the government that's at fault period. People lose their jobs and they get re-trained as a "Truck Driver"
All it is a money grabbing scheme from some schools and a waste of the tax payers money. We need people in this industry that want to be here not because they are forced to be here.

One person that I spoke to told me they were working on a assembly line, now he was re-trained to be a "Professional Driver" at age 57 and the biggest thing he drove was his Camrey.

Celadon, just like some if not most big trucking companies hire these new Professional Drivers" place them on the road and burn them out in 3 to 4 months. Is this Celadon's fault ? I would say no it's the fault of the industry. Everyone wants their freight cheap and they want it there yesterday.

Last time I talked to Celadon they weren't hiring graduates. Did that change?

All you need to get a copy of your DAC/USIS/HireRight report and it's free once a year! BUT why if you are still working for someone? Wait for several weeks after you quit to get a copy. ALSO be advised they MAIL you a copy every time someone get a copy of your report and who it was!

    http://www.hireright.com/Disputes/Report.aspx or call them 1-800-381-0645.

being open minded, i see your issue is excessive expence, with the cost rizing of fuel i see there side and your side, what happened when you were dismissed ? did you dump truck, try usis and order a free dac report, that should clear up any dispute. i had a problem with a discruntal employee before and had the report cleared from my dac. good luck in your job hunting..

I worked for Celadon Trucking for about 18 months... They decided after I was hired that they would no longer allow pets on the truck, well they grandfathered all of us with pets in and let us keep them... However, they started finding excuses to fire us or to get us to quit... Needless to say I got fired. Personally it would not have bothered me that much, except after I left I found out they are fighting paying me unemployment and they screwed up my DAC so I can't get another job after 5 years experience... Is that a company you would want to work with?

Did the pet damage the cab? I can't understand this.
